Friendly Reminder About Your Air Filter!

Restricted, dirty air filters are #1 cause of trouble for your furnace or A/C system, and can significantly reduce the life of your system if not taken care of properly. Our friends at Buckley Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. recommend the following tips to make sure your heating and air conditioning system runs in tip-top shape!
  • Check your filters every 3-4 months for optimum performance and to protect the furnace itself. Make yourself a note on your calendar to do this, or put a post-it note on your refrigerator so you don't forget!
  • Â If a "disposable" filter was installed, check it and take it to any local hardware store to find a replacement. Do not throw it away until you have found a replacement.
  • Some disposable filters can be vacuumed clean one or two time, but we do not recommend vacuuming any more than that.
  • As professionals in this business, we do not recommend the pleated high efficiency filters or the "lifetime" filters. They are too restricting for furnaces. Preferably, look for lightweight glassfloss types.
